CPTP Eligibility Requirements
A minimum of 100 hours of coursework in the area of body art tattooing or permanent cosmetics, with designated training hours in paramedical tattooing, is required. If less than 100 hours, additional continuing education specific to the industry and including paramedical must be completed to reach a total of 100 hours.
Note: CPCP certificate holders can apply this towards a total of 80 hours, with an additional 20 hours dedicated specifically to paramedical tattoo education.

Certification through the SPCP is voluntary and to maintain my certification, the candidate must maintain SPCP membership or member eligibility by abiding by the SPCP Code of Ethics.
The candidate must have recently completed a fundamental training or be active in the permanent cosmetic industry
The candidate must provide proof of 100 hours coursework in the area of body art or permanent cosmetics, with designated training hours in paramedical,. If certificates do not reflect hours, additional documentation from an instructor specifying the number of hours taken, is accepted.
The CPTP exam is a 100-question multiple-choice exam and the candidate has 90 minutes to complete it.
During the exam, the candidate must not have items such as phones, tablets, smartwatches, recording devices, books, etc. These are not permitted when taking the exam.
If the candidate is more than than 15 minutes late, they will miss the exam window and the exam will be canceled. To re-apply requires a new registration fee and re-register.
CPTP Certification must be renewed every two years and the applicant must meet renewal eligibility requirements for approved renewal.
The renewal requires a renewed & valid Bloodborne Pathogens certificate and a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education in the field of permanent cosmetics and/or paramedical permanent cosmetics every two years
The applicant must not have been denied SPCP membership in the past, nor had SPCP membership revoked.
